Wa: Municipal Assembly constructs pavilion for Market Women

 

The Wa Municipal Assembly has constructed a pavilion capable for over 200 market women from the scorching sun and rains in the Wa Central Market.

Adams Asana, project Engineer at the Wa Municipal Assembly noted that, their market survey conducted in the market shows that construction of the facility will help protect and create more opportunities for other market women who were loitering in search of places to also engage in market trading.

On his part, Municipal Chief Executive of the Wa Municipal Assembly, Hon. Issahaku Tahir Moomin, who handed over the edifice to the market women on Thursday November 5, 2020, says the pavilion has been erected for market women who cannot afford to erect or hire stores to also get the opportunity of trading under a shade.

The Municipal Chief Executive further noted that the President of the republic has supported the construction of the edifice by way of giving out common fund hence his move without hesitation to name it “Nana Akufo-Addo Lahorima” literally, meaning Akufo-Addos’ support.

Hon. Issahaku again indicated that President Akufo-Addo’s government has brought in a lot of developmental programmes and policies that inured to the benefit of many Ghanaians including market women at the Wa central market charging them to vote massively for Akufo-Addo and the NPP to retain power and continue their good works. He also appealed to the market women to also vote for Hajia Humu Awudu parliamentary candidate of the NPP for Wa central constituency.
