RE-WA FRUIT JUICE FACTORY TO COMMENCE OPERATIONS SOON UNDER A RESTRUCTURED AND NEW NAME NDAANA GHANA LIMITED :
As we might be aware, the defunct Wa Fruit Juice Factory was an initiative of the Wa Municipal Assembly and the Leper City in Belgium.
The idea to establish the factory was to strengthen the sister-sister relationship that blossomed between the two cities and also to help create job opportunities for the youth in the Municipality.
The factory started extraction and packaging of mongo juice and other seasonal fruits for commercials but run into difficulties somewhere in 2010.
The company’s fortunes however begun to sprout again in 2016 when the then Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Issahaku Nuhu Putiaha under the then government’s PPP initiative solicited the hands of a private investor through a competitive tender process to help revamp the factory.
The tender process was successfully executed and the Wa Municipal Assembly outsourced the defunct factory to the private investor -Ndaana Company limited in 2016 and the company was expected to start operations henceforth.
Unfortunately, as faith would have it, little or no information was heard about the company after change of government in 2016 despite its promise and resolve to start operations in that very year.
Thankfully, the company is out of the woods and would soon hit the market with its assorted fruit juice with the brand name *morjoy foods* including mango juice, pineapple juice, orange juice, melon juice under a strict private business arrangement in accordance with the arrangements that were reached between the Wa Municipal Assembly the company in 2016.
The company when in full operations will create immediate employment for the youth and scores of employment along the value chain, it would also help to reduce the seasonal post harvest losses that have always characterised our fruits industry.
From the forgone, it’s imperative that the activities of Ndaana Ghana Limited would inure to the benefit of the local economy and also satisfy the social/ recreational needs of the people.
We would therefore use this opportunity to commend the CEO /MD of Ndaana Ghana Limited for this great initiative, whilst we also call on the government to fulfil her promise of 1D1F to the people of Wa Municipality by the close of 2020 to help create jobs for the teaming unemployed youth in the Municipality.
